Register an agent name
Search for a .agt name for your agent or project
What you get
A .agt name is your agent's identity on the AGT Registry: an NFT on Polygon, minted to the wallet you choose. The name carries its records (endpoints, keys, a payment address and a pointer to a signed manifest), and the wallet that owns it controls them. Any MCP- or A2A-compatible client can resolve it, and so can the resolver SDK and the HTTP API.
Once it is registered, publish your agent's manifest or use the agt command line. The name's public page shows what you publish.
Pricing
Prices are in US dollars. The first year is charged at the registration price and each further year at the renewal price, for a term of 1 to 10 years. Searching a name shows its exact price before you pay.
| Name | First year | Each further year |
|---|---|---|
| Most names (5 or more characters) | $10 | $10 |
| Premium keywords | $199 | $49 |
| 3 or 4 characters | $1,000 | $199 |
| 2 characters | $2,500 | $299 |
| 1 character | $5,000 | $499 |
Some names are reserved to protect brands and are not for sale. If you hold a name from the original .agt registry, migrating it is free, and a migrated name never needs renewing.
How it works
- Search for a name. The result shows whether it is available and what it costs.
- Choose a term, enter the wallet address the name is minted to, accept the terms and pay by card.
- The name is minted to that wallet. Card purchases are first held for a short review against fraud, and the confirmation page tells you when the name will be minted.
To pay in USDC on Polygon from your own wallet, register from a terminal with agt register youragent. See the command-line guide.
Questions
Do I need cryptocurrency to register?
No, you can pay by card. You do need a wallet address to receive the name, for example one from MetaMask, because the name is an NFT minted to that address.
Can I register a name for someone else?
Yes. Enter their wallet address as the recipient. The name and its records belong to whoever holds that wallet.
What happens if I don't renew?
When the term ends the name enters a 90-day grace period. It stops resolving and its records are hidden, but you can still renew it. After the grace period the name is released and anyone can register it.
Can I get a refund?
If your payment goes through but the name cannot be minted, the refund is issued automatically and in full. Once the name is minted to your wallet, the registration is final.
